When you open the cover of a brand new book and step in to a story that feels foreign, you don’t yet wear the characters as a second skin you can easily slip in to. You have so many questions. You ache to know the backstory. Of how things connect. How they will yet unfold.

But when you place your trust in the story and allow the author to lead you along the journey, the answers slowly make themselves known to you.

I think life is a lot like this journey. Sometimes I find myself clinging so tightly with worry or fear of the unknown. But when I relax my grip, even just a little, I can feel life unfolding in so many magical ways. Ways I had no idea were even possible. Ways beyond my wildest dreams.

This is not to say that we don’t have agency over our destiny, but perhaps a belief that everything will be okay, and that things will always work out in our favour.
